(Microsoft Windows provides a recycle bin feature to protect you from accidentally erasing your files. When a file is deleted in the window, it is first moved to the recycle bin and may be restored if required. If, however, a file is not being stored in the recycle bin, ([change]-[erasure]) or if the user has emptied the recycle bin, it cannot Reply with any shared programs provided by the window. When a file is being erased in the window environment, only the file directory data is moved from FAT or MFT (for NTFS), meaning that the file data remains all in the data section on the hard disk drive. So, technically, the file can still be recovered. FinalData used this criterion to restore data, even after recycling bins that have now been emptied. In addition, FinalData can easily recover erased files and hard disk data that has been compromised by viruses or accidentally formatted. Even in extreme situations, where the directory structure is partially compromised, FinalData can recover files as long as the data persists on the hard drive. In order to determine the higher data recovery rate of Windows 2000/XP, the file maintenance and erase discovery functions should be enabled with FinalData Specification 2.0 pre-installed on the system.)
