(In 2001, China Mobile Group officially launched the design and construction of the national backbone and inter-international transmission network, and some mobile enterprises have also started to build internal transmission networks. In order to extend the broadband advantage of the backbone network to users as soon as possible and establish the bandwidth advantage of the entire network, the construction of the mobile metropolitan area network is imperative. Along with joining the WTO and the further deepening of the opening of the telecom field, it will be a long-term strategic decision to move the construction of the metropolitan area network. As the main business of mobile communication, GSM network is developing rapidly. GPRS and 3G are the leading technologies to provide mobile data services at this stage and in the next stage. Their transmission in the local area puts forward new requirements for the construction of metropolitan area network. With the rapid development of data services, new applications such as mobile commerce continue to emerge. In the near future, the data services carried by the metropolitan area network will continue to grow, and operators will have higher and higher requirements for platforms that carry these services. Mobile has obtained the ISP license in 2000 and entered the field of data business. In addition, China Mobile has a large number of data services: WAP service, GPRS service, future 3G data service and office automation and other data services. It has started to build CMNet in 2000, and has now achieved a nationwide IP data backbone network. Most of the country is building or planning to build a data backbone network. However, because there is no broadband transmission network, it is difficult to develop services for enterprise users or individual users. Now usually use the leased telecom data line and other methods to develop business. This approach also restricts the development of mobile data services. So it is necessary to build a broadband metropolitan area network.
