(A local area network consisting of an ATM switch connected to a computer is called an ATM local area network. The rate supported by ATM switches and ATM network cards is usually 155Mb/s to 24Gb/s, which meets the needs of different users. The standard ATM networking rate is 622Mb/s. ATM is a network technology that combines the advantages of packet switching and circuit switching. It can work at any different speed, different media and use different transmission technologies.
