P2P traffic detection technology can be divided into identification method based on traffic characteristics (TLI) and deep packet identification method (DPI). TLI identifies whether a network flow belongs to P2P by analyzing the transport layer packets and combining the traffic characteristics of P2P systems. DPI uses protocol analysis and restore technology to extract P2P application layer data. By analyzing the protocol eigenvalues contained in its load, it can judge whether the network traffic belongs to P2P applications.
