Audio networking can save money, in part, by sharing the same network as data, and through audio compression, silence compression, repeat mode compression, and dynamic bandwidth allocation. The 53-byte cell of ATM fixed size allows ATM to support a dedicated network of time multiplexing (TDM) to achieve the efficiency of a public switched data network (PublicSwitchedDataNetworks, PSDN).)
